The Veracruz City Council has organised the Animal Health Fair, an event that will provide free veterinary services for dogs and cats, as well as promote responsible adoption. The event will take place on July 21 at the courts of Reino Mágico Park, starting at 4:00 PM.
This initiative, driven by the Animal Protection and Health Unit, aims to facilitate access to preventive care and reduce abandonment. Attendees will be able to vaccinate, deworm, and receive veterinary advice at no cost.
Free services and requirements for pets
During the event, rabies vaccination, deworming, veterinary consultations, and talks on preventing animal abuse will be offered. Information will also be provided on vaccination schedules and flea control.
To receive the vaccine, pets must be at least three months old, come with a leash or harness, be clean, and free of ticks. Authorities recommend bringing animals in good health.
Responsible adoption: 12 dogs and 5 cats looking for a home
One of the central themes of the event is the adoption fair, where 12 rescued dogs and five cats will be available. Interested individuals must present a copy of their official ID and a photograph of the space where the pet will live.
The goal is to ensure that animals are adopted by committed families. Adopting implies a long-term commitment, but also the opportunity to give a rescued animal a new life, as highlighted by municipal authorities.
Additionally, the fair will include a small dog race, contests, and activities to encourage interaction between families and their pets. These activities aim to create a playful and educational environment.

With this fair, the Veracruz City Council aims to strengthen the culture of responsible pet ownership and raise awareness about animal welfare. The event coincides with International Dog Day, adding special symbolism to the initiative.
