The Texas School for the Deaf, the institution where the actress studied, issued a statement of condolences and requested that the privacy of her loved ones be respected during their mourning.

Kaylee Hottle was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2007, and grew up in Austin, Texas. From a young age, she was connected to the deaf community and began her artistic career at the age of 9 participating in commercials aimed at people with hearing disabilities, including projects about communication applications in ASL.
Her big break came when the producers of Kong: Skull Island selected her to play Jia, a girl who communicates with Kong using sign language. The character became a symbol of inclusion in commercial cinema.
In 2021, she made her big screen debut with Godzilla vs. Kong, sharing the bill with actors such as Rebecca Hall, Alexander Skarsgård, and Millie Bobby Brown. Her performance earned her a nomination for the Saturn Awards in the Best Young Actor or Actress in a Film category for her work in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024).
Additionally, she appeared in an episode of the series Magnum P.I., expanding her television experience.
