On July 23, a seminar will bring together regulators and companies to discuss the impact of AI, blockchain, and big data on the Vietnamese stock market, recently upgraded to secondary emerging market status by FTSE Russell.

Artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain have become the main protagonists of the upcoming revolution in the Vietnamese stock market. On July 23, at 9:00 AM, Ho Chi Minh City will host a seminar titled 'The Future of the Stock Market: New Driving Forces of Technology', organised by the online newspaper Tuoi Tre and supported by Kafi Securities and VNPT AI.

An Ascending Market Demanding Modernisation

The event comes at a crucial time: FTSE Russell has officially elevated the Vietnamese stock market to the status of secondary emerging market starting September 2026. This upgrade opens the door to greater international capital inflow but also imposes the need to improve infrastructure, transparency, and transaction security.

According to the organisers, technology is set to be the main engine of this transformation. AI, big data, cloud computing, and automation are changing everything from infrastructure operations to risk management and investor services. Even blockchain is being researched to enhance post-transaction processes such as custody and payments.

Mr. Huynh Anh Huy, CFA, Director of Industry Analysis at Kafi Securities, noted that AI combined with big data will have the most profound impact on the securities industry in the coming years, thanks to its ability to personalise advice and optimise operations.

AI and Cloud as Axes of Change

From the tech sector, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Director of the Strategic Customer Segment at VNPT AI, emphasised that the demand for technological applications is not limited to trading platforms. It also encompasses improving transparency, risk management, fraud prevention, and investor protection. AI is already being applied in electronic identification, biometric authentication, and compliance control.

The seminar will gather representatives from the State Securities Commission, Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), securities and tech companies, as well as finance experts. Topics such as how technology will change the operational models of securities firms, what blockchain can bring to market infrastructure, and how investors should prepare for this new phase will be discussed.

Additionally, the need for a comprehensive legal framework that promotes innovation will be addressed. Many advocate for the implementation of a regulated sandbox environment for new technology-based financial models and products, a solution that would allow testing AI, data, and digital transaction initiatives in a controlled environment, ensuring market security and investor rights.

For the average investor, these transformations will mean access to more personalised and efficient services, but also a greater demand for training and adaptation. Technology will not only improve the speed and transparency of operations but will also change the way they interact with financial intermediaries. Seminar attendees will gain first-hand insights into the trends that will shape the immediate future of the market.

Following the seminar, there will be an awards ceremony for the 'Investment Warrior' contest, organised by Tuoi Tre in collaboration with Kafi Securities and sponsored by Smart Train Academy. The event, more than just a tech forum, aims to spread the message of a modern, transparent, secure, and sustainable stock market, where technology is a driving force of investor confidence.
