The Deputy General Secretary of ATE Río Grande, Violeta Santander, announced the acceleration of the regulation of the Provincial Public Administration Collective Agreement, in effect since 2022, and the progress on the new ranking.
The Association of State Workers (ATE) is accelerating the regulation of the Provincial Public Administration Collective Agreement, a process that has been waiting for four years. The Deputy General Secretary of ATE Río Grande, Violeta Santander, detailed the steps to follow after the meeting with the provincial Executive in Tolhuin.
Pending commissions and new ranking
Santander explained that next week the meetings of the commissions outlined in the agreement will continue. "We have already started with the first agenda item. We will proceed with the different commissions, focusing on hygiene and safety, and then we will discuss our ranking," the leader stated. The goal is for this work to result in a definitive agreement for state workers.
The agreement has been homologated and in effect since 2022, but there are still steps to complete. "The agreement is definitive. Every two years we need to review it to see if we can improve it, but it has already been homologated and is in effect. It took a long time to fully establish it," Santander affirmed.
The unions have already appointed their representatives for the commissions, while the provincial Government still needs to complete that process. Despite this, it was decided to move forward with the schedule to form the Provincial Labour Relations Joint Commission (COPARLAP) and then the Commission for Equal Employment Opportunities.
Progress in decentralized entities
Santander highlighted the progress in decentralized and autonomous entities. The Provincial Housing Institute (IPV) is about to sign its agreement, while the Fueguina Revenue Agency (AREF) already has it in effect. There are also advanced negotiations in IPRA, OSEF, and the Innovation Agency. "We are very happy because in the decentralized and autonomous entities we are almost entirely working on their own agreements," she stated.
The leader insisted on the urgency to accelerate the definitions: "We will be speeding up some steps because we urgently need it. It has been four years of waiting, and situations continue to occur in different sectors that should not be happening." Having a consolidated regulatory framework will strengthen the protection of state workers against the policies of the national Government. "Having our laws allows us to guarantee rights and obligations as workers. It is very important in the face of a national government that seeks to eliminate rights," she concluded.
For the workers of the Provincial Public Administration, this process implies the consolidation of labour rights and the improvement of working conditions. The regulation of the agreement and the new ranking are key steps to ensure stability and equity in public employment. It is expected that in the coming weeks the meetings will take place and progress will be made towards definitive implementation.
