The Oviedo Chamber of Commerce warns of a fraud: calls are being made to businesses impersonating the entity to collect supposed activity licenses on delivery.

The Oviedo Chamber of Commerce has issued a warning after detecting an attempted scam aimed at businesses. A person is posing as an employee of the institution and contacting companies by phone to announce the arrival of supposed activity licenses via courier, with payment due upon delivery.

The entity has confirmed that this communication is false and that it is not sending any type of license through this system. The notice, disseminated through its official channels, urges entrepreneurs to exercise caution and not to make any payments or provide personal, banking, or company information in response to such calls.

The Chamber also reminds that any legitimate communication is conducted through official channels. If there are any doubts, one can contact the institution directly at the phone number 985 20 75 75 or via email at correo@camara-ovi.es.

The Oviedo Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will take appropriate legal action to protect its identity and prevent more businesses or citizens from falling victim to the scam. Additionally, they appreciate the dissemination of this warning to halt the spread of the fraud.

This type of identity impersonation has become a recurring practice in the business sector. Scammers often exploit the trust generated by well-known institutions to request urgent payments or sensitive data, so it is advisable to always verify the authenticity of any unexpected communication.
