The annual inflation rate in the province of Burgos reached 4.3% in July, according to the latest bulletin from the Chamber of Commerce. This figure exceeds June's by 1.2 points and is above the national average (3.6%).

The province of Burgos recorded an annual CPI variation rate of 4.3% in July, which represents an increase of 1.2 points compared to the previous month, according to the latest Economic Indicators Bulletin from the Burgos Chamber of Commerce, prepared in collaboration with Ibercaja Banco. In Spain as a whole, the year-on-year inflation stood at 3.6%, four tenths higher than in June.

The bulletin, which includes data from the first six months of the year, also highlights the evolution of official bidding in the construction sector, which grew by 9.4% year-on-year in the province, in line with the national figure of 10.3%. However, in the regional context, bidding fell by 15.7%.

Regarding domestic demand, the registration of cars in Burgos increased by 14.2% in the first half of the year, a rate much higher than that of Castilla y León (5.0%) and Spain (6.9%). This figure reflects a stronger consumption in the province.

In foreign trade, Burgos' exports accumulated until May grew by 5.2% year-on-year, with a coverage index of 157.5%, well above the national figure of 86.8%. This means that the province exports significantly more than it imports, reinforcing its trade balance.

Finally, the Active Population Survey from the INE for the second quarter of 2026 places the unemployment rate in Burgos at 7.7%, lower than that of Castilla y León (8.4%) and Spain (9.9%). The provincial activity rate is set at 55.4%, between the regional rate of 54.5% and the national rate of 59.3%.

The Economic Indicators Bulletin, published monthly, is available on the Burgos Chamber of Commerce website. This data provides a useful snapshot for businesses and self-employed individuals who want to understand the evolution of the provincial economy.
