The Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council has selected the startup AiQUOS as the project that will represent the city at the IX edition of Innpulso Emprende, which will be held in Terrassa on September 29 and 30.

The Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council has chosen the startup AiQUOS to represent the city at the IX edition of Innpulso Emprende, the annual meeting of the Innpulso Network that will bring together emerging companies and municipalities recognised as Cities of Science and Innovation in Terrassa.

The call, aimed at SMEs, micro-SMEs, and startups in the municipality with a high innovative component and growth potential, aimed to select the project that would represent Cerdanyola at this state-level event, which will take place on September 29 and 30.

AiQUOS, located in the UAB Research Park, is a deep tech company created as a spin-off from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Zurich. The company has developed an intelligent microchip capable of monitoring water quality in real time, continuously and without the need to use chemical reagents or perform intensive maintenance.

Its technology allows for the optimisation of water resource management in sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, or industry, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable use of water. The project has a functional prototype validated in collaboration with the Institute of Research and Technology in Food and Agriculture (IRTA), has submitted three international patent applications, and has received several recognitions, including the EPoSS Start-up Award 2026.

The driving team combines extensive research experience in microelectronics and neuromorphic sensors with business development expertise. During the event, the startup will present its proposal in an elevator pitch alongside the city’s mayor to representatives of the Innpulso Network, investors, companies, and agents from the scientific and business ecosystem.

The participation of AiQUOS represents a new opportunity to showcase the talent and innovative capacity of Cerdanyola in a state-level forum. With this initiative, the municipality continues to establish itself as a benchmark in research, knowledge, and innovation, highlighting the potential of companies emerging from its scientific and technological ecosystem.
