Eight-hour water cut in Junín due to network connection works this Tuesday

Residents of the Callejón Reta area in the Mendoza department of Junín will need to prepare for a scheduled water cut that will last throughout the morning and part of the afternoon this Tuesday. Aguas Mendocinas will carry out network connection tasks that will require the service to be suspended from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The state-owned company specified that the interruption will exclusively affect the Callejón Reta sector in the east of Mendoza province. The works involve connecting new pipes to the existing network, a common intervention to improve the area's water infrastructure.

In light of the eight-hour water shortage, Aguas Mendocinas urged residents to take precautions. The main advice is to store drinking water in clean containers before 8 am. It is recommended to have at least two litres per person to cover basic hydration and hygiene needs.

During the cut, residents are asked to use the stored water responsibly and avoid activities that require large volumes, such as washing clothes with automatic washing machines, using dishwashers, or watering gardens. Washing sidewalks and vehicles with hoses or pressure washers is also prohibited, a restriction that is in effect year-round in the province.

Once the supply returns to normal after 4 pm, the company recommends checking for possible water leaks in taps and toilets. Small leaks can go unnoticed and lead to excessive consumption, increasing the bill. Inspecting facilities and repairing any drips is a simple yet effective measure.

For the residents of Callejón Reta, Tuesday will require organisation. The most practical approach is to fill bottles and jugs in advance and postpone tasks such as house cleaning or laundry until Wednesday. Preparation avoids setbacks and helps ensure that the network improvement works proceed without incidents.
