A group of laity is developing a free digital kit with a biography, prayers, and resources to raise awareness of the life of Blessed Concepción Cabrera de Armida, the first Mexican laywoman to be beatified.
A group of laity has initiated the creation of a free digital kit to spread the life and spiritual legacy of Blessed Concepción Cabrera de Armida. The initiative, called Together with Concepción Cabrera, aims to bring her testimony closer to parishes, movements, catechists, and families.
The project will include a biography, training materials, printable images, resources for social media, and prayers. All of this will be available free of charge to anyone who requests it, as explained by Jesús Chacón, the coordinator of the initiative.
A project born from lay devotion
Chacón noted that the idea arose from his own personal devotion and the desire for more people to know the life of the Blessed. “Our wish is for these resources to be a simple aid for Christian formation, prayer, and the dissemination of her spiritual legacy,” he stated.
Although the kit is still in development, those responsible hope to have it ready soon. Interested individuals can request information via email at juntoaconcepcioncabrera@gmail.com or on the project's Facebook page.
Concepción Cabrera: first Mexican laywoman beatified
Concepción “Conchita” Cabrera de Armida was beatified on May 4, 2019 in Mexico City, becoming the first Mexican laywoman to receive that recognition. She was a mother, wife, writer, and founder of several religious groups.
For Chacón, her testimony demonstrates that “holiness can also be lived in everyday life.” He highlighted that she was “a mother, a wife, and a woman deeply in love with Jesus Christ, who dedicated her entire life to the service of God and the Church.”
Relevance of the message and ecclesial communion
The coordinator emphasized that the message of the Blessed remains fully relevant, as it invites us to “love Jesus Christ more, trust completely in God, live a life of prayer, and love the Church from our own vocation.”
The initiative is being developed in communion with the Office of the Cause of Canonization of the Blessed. “With God's help, we hope this initiative can become a small instrument for many people to discover the great spiritual treasure that Blessed Concepción Cabrera left to the Church,” concluded Chacón.
“Our desire is for these resources to be a simple aid for Christian formation, prayer, and the dissemination of the life and spiritual legacy of the Blessed.”
Those interested in receiving the digital kit or collaborating with the project can write to the mentioned email or follow updates on Facebook. The initiative hopes to reach as many people as possible, especially in Mexico, where the Blessed is a spiritual reference.
