The Tax Agency published the list of major debtors on July 4, with data as of the end of 2025. Kiko Matamoros, Patricia Conde and Bertín Osborne have responded with explanations and documents.
The annual publication of the Tax Agency's list of major debtors has sparked a wave of reactions among the famous individuals included. The list, with data as of the end of 2025, includes 5,853 debtors, but the spotlight is on the well-known faces. Kiko Matamoros owes 600,740 euros, Patricia Conde 714,000, and Bertín Osborne 835,000, according to the Tax Agency. All of them have denied the debt or justified it with lawsuits and subsequent payments.
Kiko Matamoros: lawsuit over a property and viral comment
The television collaborator reappears on the list after several years off the tax radar. His wife, Marta López Álamo, explained that the issue lies with a property: the family home in Pozuelo de Alarcón. Matamoros transferred it to his ex-wife, Makoke, to avoid a tax lien, and now he hopes to recover it through a civil lawsuit to settle the debt. "Until the issue of the property he needs to recover is resolved, he will not be able to get up to date," López Álamo stated.
Matamoros' comment on social media —"But they won't show up at Zapatero's house"— became the most shared of the day, fueling the debate about the selectivity of the list. Meanwhile, the collaborator hopes that justice will rule in his favour and that he can regularise his tax situation.
Patricia Conde and Bertín Osborne: certificates and statements
Presenter Patricia Conde did not hesitate to respond. With a debt of 714,000 euros, she published a statement on Instagram alongside a certificate from the Tax Agency which, according to her, proves that the matter was resolved in 2023. "I am not very keen on giving explanations, but this time I feel obliged to speak," she wrote, announcing possible legal actions if the information is not corrected. The certificate, dated 2023, would indicate that the debt is cancelled, but the list is based on data from December 2025.
Bertín Osborne also denies owing the 835,000 euros claimed by the Tax Agency. His representative, Susana Uribarri, clarified on the programme Y ahora Sonsoles that the payment was made in April 2026, months after the accounting cut-off of December 31, 2025, used for the list. "Bertín is outraged, he does not owe money to the Tax Agency," Uribarri concluded. The singer will present documentation to have his name removed from the registry.
The list of debtors has become a red carpet of explanations and excuses, but the money keeps dancing.
Isabel Pantoja and Paz Vega: recurring millionaires
Isabel Pantoja now exceeds one million euros in debt, while Paz Vega accumulates 1.8 million. Both have appeared on the list for years, but in this edition, they have not offered new public defences. Former footballer Arda Turan also appears with significant figures. The annual publication reopens the debate on whether it is fair to point out taxpayers with ongoing proceedings or subsequent payments. The Tax Agency defends the transparency of the list, but those affected insist that the picture is no longer accurate.
For the interested reader, the lesson is clear: appearing on the list does not necessarily imply an unpaid debt, but may reflect temporary discrepancies or ongoing lawsuits. Those affected have the right to present allegations and documentation to rectify their situation. Meanwhile, the tax gossip continues to make headlines and social media does not forgive.
