The FETICO union and the company Cítricos del Andarax (Grupo García Carrión) signed the III Collective Agreement on July 10, which will benefit 85 workers and includes an immediate salary increase of 2%.
On July 10, the Don Simón plant in Gádor (Almería) hosted the signing of the III Collective Agreement of Cítricos del Andarax, S.A., an agreement that affects 85 workers at the Almeria plant. The agreement, negotiated by the FETICO union and the management of the García Carrión group, introduces improvements in various labour, economic, and social aspects.
Among the most notable new features, the text includes a reduction in the maximum number of working Sundays and public holidays, as well as an increase in the remuneration for overtime and work on public holidays. The night shift bonus has also been improved, and the hours bank has been regulated more favourably, a mechanism that allows for flexible working hours.
Social and salary improvements
The agreement includes new educational assistance for workers' children and updates the loyalty bonuses, recognising seniority within the company. In terms of salary, an immediate advance of 2% is applied, pending the outcome of the negotiation of the Sectoral Agreement for Vegetable Preserves, which could lead to additional increases.
Furthermore, the text strengthens measures regarding equality, diversity, harassment prevention, and non-discrimination, aligning with current regulations. It also adapts various matters to the Sectoral Agreement for Vegetable Preserves, allowing employees to benefit from future improvements in this area.
FETICO reaffirms its commitment to collective bargaining
Antonio Pérez, General Secretary of FETICO, positively assessed the agreement:
“The signing of this III Collective Agreement once again demonstrates that collective bargaining is the most effective tool for advancing labour rights when there is a willingness to dialogue and responsibility from all parties.”
The union, present in other García Carrión plants (Huelva, Daimiel, and the Jaume Serra winery in Barcelona), believes that the agreement represents a step forward in job quality and job stability within the company. For the workers of Cítricos del Andarax, the agreement means tangible improvements that affect both their finances and work-life balance.
The García Carrión group, one of the largest agri-food groups in Europe, operates in over 150 countries and has a strategic centre for the production of juices and citrus derivatives at the Gádor plant. The signing of this agreement reinforces the company's commitment to social dialogue and improving the conditions of its employees.
