The State Public Employment Service will pay unemployment benefits for June starting from 10th July. More than 2.2 million unemployed individuals are awaiting the deposit, which some entities may advance according to their commercial policy.

The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) plans to pay unemployment benefits and subsidies for the month of June starting from Friday 10th July 2026, according to the official calendar of the agency. The date remains unchanged as it coincides with a working day, although some financial institutions may advance the deposit based on their agreements with the General Treasury of Social Security.

Approximately 2.29 million people were registered as unemployed at the end of June, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy. Of these, around 862,000 receive contributory benefits and 917,000 receive some form of assistance subsidy, such as that aimed at individuals over 52 years old. For all of them, 10th July is the official payment date, although previous months' experiences show that some banks advance the deposit by one or two days.

Payment schedule by banking entity

The SEPE regulations state that payments are made on the 10th of each month, always for the previous month. In July 2026, as it falls on a Friday, there is no shift to later days. However, each bank applies its own internal process, which can lead to differences in hours or even a day in the date when the beneficiary sees the money in their account.

According to information provided by the main entities, most expect to make the deposit on the same 10th of July. This includes Banco Santander, Bankinter, BBVA, CaixaBank, ING, imagin, Cajasur, and Cajamar, which confirm payment from that date. Openbank will also do so from 10th July, although with the possibility of an advance. At Unicaja, the deposit may arrive on the 10th or on subsequent days, and at the Rural Savings Banks, the date depends on each provincial entity, although it is usual for them to adhere to the official calendar.

The actual deposit may vary slightly depending on the time at which the SEPE sends the payment orders and the processing speed of each bank. Beneficiaries who have their benefits deposited in an account with an entity not listed should consult directly with their office or the banking app.

Amounts of unemployment benefits in 2026

The contributory benefit (the unemployment benefit received after having contributed for at least 360 days) is calculated based on the worker's regulatory base and the time they have been receiving it. During the first 180 days, 70% of the regulatory base is received, and from day 181, 60%. There are maximum and minimum caps that vary depending on the number of dependent children.

For 2026, the maximum monthly cap for the contributory benefit is €1,575 without children, €1,800 with one child, and €2,025 with two or more children. The minimum cap is set at €560 per month if there are no children, and €748 with at least one dependent child. These figures are updated annually based on the IPREM.

The assistance subsidies, such as the subsidy for individuals over 52 years old or the subsidy for insufficient contributions, have a fixed amount of €490 per month (80% of the IPREM), except for the subsidy for individuals over 52 years old, which also contributes to retirement and whose amount is also €490 per month.

What to do if payment is not received?

If the deposit does not appear in the account on 10th July, the first step is to check that the banking details are updated in the SEPE's electronic headquarters. It is also advisable to verify that the obligation to renew the job search has been fulfilled on the corresponding date, as non-payment may be due to a lack of unemployment stamping.

In case of unjustified delays, the beneficiary can contact the SEPE via phone at 901 119 999 or by making an appointment at their employment office. Banking entities usually attribute delays to issues in file transmission, but the responsibility for payment lies with the SEPE, which must issue the transfer order before the 10th.
