The exhibition 'Paraguay Ñane Reta Rekove' brings together works from 25 Paraguayan artists at the Cabildo in Asunción, using traditional techniques such as oil and xilopainting. Open until July 20.

The Cabildo of Asunción hosts this week the collective exhibition Paraguay Ñane Reta Rekove (Paraguay. The life of our country), a showcase that gathers 25 Paraguayan artists around figurative art. The initiative, organised by Horacio Guimaraens and curated by María Eugenia Ruiz, aims to rediscover the cultural, historical, and natural wealth of the country through traditional techniques such as oil, acrylic, and xilopainting.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until July 20, from 08:00 to 12:30, with free entry for all interested. The organisation has exclusively focused on figurative art, setting aside other movements to concentrate on a direct representation of Paraguayan reality.

Artists and Thematic Axes of the Exhibition

Among the exhibitors are names such as Alba González, Alejandro Borja, Alicia Pérez Pane, Ana Acosta, Ana Liz Resquín, Carolina Abbate, Celia Vera, Elizabeth Rugilo, Gabriel Servián, Gloria Valle, and Henmy Orué. Also participating are Julián Cárdenas, Ma. Eugenia Yegros, Ma. Luisa Picasso, Manuel Vera, Maritza Salinas, Martín Vallejos, Mila Montiel, Milena Molas, Patricia Rosales, Romy Nunes, Rossi Schubert, Verónica Fernández, and Wence Silvero.

The exhibition route is organised around several thematic axes. The typical characters and customary scenes depict everyday life, work, and popular traditions. Landscapes and architecture occupy another central place, from the nature of the Paraguayan territory to buildings that represent the historical heritage of cities and communities.

Flora, Fauna, and Dialogue with the Public

The national flora and fauna are other major protagonists of the exhibition. The works explore the country's biodiversity through compositions that highlight the colour, textures, and richness of Paraguayan ecosystems. The exhibition seeks to foster a dialogue between creators and the public, promoting reflection on cultural identity through art.

The initiative aims to bring Paraguayan artistic production closer to foreign visitors interested in learning about the visual expressions that represent the country. For local visitors, it is an opportunity to rediscover Paraguayan identity through the brushes of artists from different generations.

The exhibition invites you to rediscover the cultural, historical, and natural wealth of the country through figurative art.

Those wishing to visit can do so from Monday to Friday at the Cabildo of Asunción, until July 20. Entry is free and does not require prior reservation. A perfect occasion for art lovers who want to take a piece of Paraguay in their gaze.
