The second edition of the Mar del Plata Coffee Cup will take place on July 25 and 26 at the Salón Atlántico of the NH Gran Hotel Provincial, with free entry. The event will bring together over 20 cities around coffee culture.
The Mar del Plata Coffee Cup 2026 returns to the seaside city to gather coffee lovers, baristas, and entrepreneurs. On Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26, the Salón Atlántico of the NH Gran Hotel Provincial will become the epicentre of Argentine coffee culture, with free entry.
Organised by the Municipality of General Pueyrredón, the expo will feature representatives from over 20 cities, competing in categories such as Aeroexpress, Latte Art, and Cup Tasters. Additionally, there will be networking spaces, tastings, talks, and booths from specialised brands.
Live competitions and barista shows
The event will offer live competitions where baristas will showcase their skills. In the Latte Art category, participants will create designs on milk foam; in Aeroexpress, the preparation technique will be evaluated; and in Cup Tasters, contestants will need to identify different coffee origins by taste and aroma.
"We want to position Mar del Plata as a coffee tourism destination," explained sources from the organisation. The event will also include technical talks on roasting, grinding, and extraction, led by industry specialists.
Tastings and brand booths
Attendees will be able to explore booths from coffee brands, equipment suppliers, and artisanal roasters. There will be free tastings of different varieties, from traditional blends to single-origin specialty coffees.
The event will run from 10:00 to 20:00 on both days, at Avenida Marítimo Patricio Peralta Ramos 2502. Entry is free and does not require prior registration.
A boost to gastronomic tourism
The Mar del Plata Coffee Cup is part of the winter agenda of the province of Buenos Aires, which includes popular festivals and gastronomic events. For coffee lovers, it is a unique opportunity to try new brews, learn from professionals, and discover the latest trends in the industry.
Organisers recommend arriving early to enjoy all the activities, as high attendance is expected. For more information, you can check the official Instagram of Turismo Mar del Plata.
