UD Almería has completed the transfer of Marko Milovanovic to Portsmouth for six million euros, retaining a 15% sell-on clause. Meanwhile, the club demands 25 million for Sergio Arribas, the top scorer in LaLiga Hypermotion, amid interest from Benfica.

UD Almería has kicked off the summer transfer market with activity in both directions. The Andalusian club has transferred Serbian forward Marko Milovanovic to Portsmouth for six million euros, a deal that includes a 15% sell-on clause for the red-and-white club in the event of a future sale.

Milovanovic, 22, returned to Almería after a loan in the Portuguese Primeira Liga where he scored ten goals, attracting interest from several European clubs. Ultimately, Portsmouth was the club that swiftly closed the deal, meeting the financial demands of the Spanish club.

Almeria's management braces for potential departure of Arribas

The name dominating the headlines at Power Horse Stadium is Sergio Arribas. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been the standout player of the 2025-2026 season, becoming the top scorer in LaLiga Hypermotion with 21 goals. His performance has piqued the interest of Benfica, which has already initiated contact with his camp.

Almería's stance is clear and firm: they will not entertain negotiations for less than 25 million euros. According to club sources, the entity does not need to sell the player, who has a valid contract, and only an offer close to that figure would make them reconsider his departure. Benfica, for its part, is seeking an attacking reinforcement following the potential departure of one of its forwards.

A summer of movements in the Mediterranean

The sale of Milovanovic marks the first major exit of the summer for Almería. The operation frees up wage bill and provides financial breathing room, but the sporting management's roadmap is focused on retaining Arribas. The club has already informed interested parties that they will not consider offers below the set range.

For Almería fans, the news is a double-edged sword: the joy of a transfer that brings in revenue and the uncertainty regarding the future of their star. Benfica will have to decide whether to match Almería's valuation or seek alternatives. Meanwhile, on the Almeria coast, the summer is shaping up to be intense in the offices.

The next key date will be the market closure on August 31, although movements could accelerate if Benfica formalises an offer in the coming weeks. For now, Almería remains calm and financially secure following Milovanovic's transfer.
