The Tax Agency has paid €29.34 million to Segovian taxpayers in the 2025 Income Campaign, representing a 2.23% increase compared to the previous year. A total of 45,880 refunds have been processed, which is 80.19% of those requested.
The 2025 Income Campaign has injected nearly €30 million into the economy of Segovia. According to data published by the Tax Agency, by early July, €29.34 million had already been refunded to taxpayers in the province, corresponding to 45,880 processed payments out of 57,213 requested.
This means that eight out of ten refund requests have already been addressed. Specifically, 80.19% of the files have received their payment, while the amount paid represents 67.41% of the total requested, which was €43.53 million.
Despite the high processing rate, there is still 19.81% of requests pending. In Segovia, 11,333 requests remain unresolved, with a total amount of around €14.19 million.
The money refunded in this campaign slightly exceeds that of the previous one. In the 2024 Income Campaign, the Tax Agency paid €28.70 million, compared to the current €29.34 million, representing an increase of 2.23%. The number of refunds paid also grew, from 44,716 to 45,880, an increase of 2.60%.
The evolution of refunds does not depend solely on the number of declarations submitted. It is also influenced by the withholdings made during the year, the declared income, and the personal and economic circumstances of each taxpayer, which vary from year to year.
The increase in refunds coincides with a rise in the number of declarations submitted. Segovia closed the 2025 Income Campaign with 92,275 declarations, a 4.34% increase compared to the previous campaign, which recorded 88,437.
The province has seen several consecutive years of growth in the number of submissions. Over the last five years, Segovia has added 8,230 more declarations, representing an accumulated increase of nearly 10%. The trend has been maintained with increases ranging between three and four percent, except for the previous campaign, when growth moderated to 1.25%.
The province's evolution is slightly above the regional average. While Segovia increased the number of declarations by 4.34%, Castilla y León closed the campaign with 1,438,474 declarations, a 3.42% increase compared to the previous year. In fact, Segovia was the province in the community with the highest growth in the number of submissions.
Regarding refunds, there are also differences with the rest of the region. While Segovia increased the number of payments and their amount by 2.6%, other provinces have experienced reductions. Valladolid reduced the number of refunds by 0.94%, and the amount paid fell by more than 3%; Burgos recorded decreases of 0.96% and 3.28%; and León reduced its payments by 0.92% and the amount refunded by 3.15%. Overall, Castilla y León recorded a negative evolution: paid refunds decreased by 0.21% and the amount refunded fell by 1.83%.
In terms of the national total, the evolution was more positive. According to the Tax Agency's report, the 2025 Income Campaign concluded in Spain with 25.613 million declarations submitted, a 4.2% increase compared to the last exercise. The Tax Agency had paid €9.361 billion to nearly thirteen million taxpayers by the end of the campaign, with an increase of 2.9% in the amount refunded and 3% in the number of payments.
Beyond the economic figures, the 2025 Income Campaign has also been marked by the advancement of digital tools. The Tax Agency particularly highlights the growth of 'Direct Income', the modality aimed at taxpayers with simple declarations who do not need to modify the Income Web draft.
At the national level, 2.4 million taxpayers used this option, an increase of 135.8% compared to the previous year. The use of the Tax Agency's mobile application also increased, allowing nearly 883,000 declarations to be submitted, a 26.8% rise.
Alongside these channels, the telephone assistance plan 'We Call You' enabled the submission of 1.216 million declarations, while 930,000 declarations were prepared at the Tax Agency's offices during the campaign.
The agency emphasizes that the data from this latest campaign reflects a gradual change in the way taxpayers approach their Income declaration. Each year, the number of submissions made in the province increases, while digital channels gain prominence over traditional methods of assistance.
For Segovian taxpayers who have not yet received their refund, the Tax Agency recommends checking the status of their declaration through the electronic headquarters or the mobile application. The deadline for resolving pending requests extends until the end of the year, although most are usually resolved in the months following the campaign's closure.
