The Digital Kit programme, which has already mobilised 3.4 billion euros, is preparing a new call for vouchers of up to 3,000 euros for self-employed individuals and micro-enterprises. The Government has already approved the regulatory framework to reallocate unspent funds.

The Digital Kit programme, funded by Next Generation EU funds, is gearing up for a new phase that will allow thousands of self-employed individuals and small businesses to access aid of up to 3,000 euros to digitise their operations. The Government has already approved the necessary regulatory framework to reuse the funds that were left unallocated in previous calls, although there is still no official opening date.

Between 2022 and October 2025, the programme mobilised over 3.4 billion euros and benefited approximately 850,000 businesses and self-employed individuals across all Spanish provinces. Its impact was particularly significant among small businesses, a sector that has traditionally faced greater difficulties in investing in technology due to a lack of financial resources, technical knowledge, or time.

How the Digital Kit voucher works

The Digital Kit broke with the traditional model of subsidies. The self-employed individual does not receive the money directly; instead, they obtain a digital voucher that can be used with authorised technology companies, known as digital agents. The process consists of five steps: the business requests the voucher, conducts a digital maturity diagnosis, selects a technological solution, signs an agreement with a digital agent, and the Government pays the provider directly. This system allows small businesses to access technology without needing to advance large sums of money.

Who can receive up to 3,000 euros

The most well-known aid is aimed at the so-called Segment III, which consists of self-employed individuals, micro-enterprises, and businesses with between 0 and fewer than 3 employees. For this group, the digital voucher can reach up to 3,000 euros. The aid can be used for digital presence solutions (website creation, search engine optimisation, social media management), e-commerce (online stores, payment system integration, sales on marketplaces), business management (electronic invoicing, CRM, process automation), and digital security (cybersecurity).

For self-employed individuals who missed out in previous editions, this new opportunity is a breath of fresh air. Digitalisation is no longer a luxury but a necessity to compete in the current economy. As sources from the Ministry of Economic Affairs point out, the goal is for no small business to be left behind due to a lack of technological resources.

The programme has proven to be an effective tool for modernising the Spanish business fabric, especially in rural areas and traditionally less digitalised sectors, according to the Ministry.

The new phase still does not have an official opening date, but the Government has already approved the necessary regulatory framework to utilise the funds that were left unallocated. The call is expected to be published in the first half of 2026, although from Red.es, the managing body of the programme, they recommend keeping an eye on their official website to not miss the opportunity.

For those interested, it is advisable to start preparing the documentation: ID card, digital certificate, bank account, and a digital maturity diagnosis, which can be done for free online. Additionally, it is recommended to compare the solutions offered by digital agents and choose the one that best fits the business needs. The aid does not cover 100% of any investment, but has limits by category, so planning ahead is key.
