The Junta of Castilla y León has launched a grant call for self-employed workers with 10 million euros, aimed at those starting their activity between September 2025 and August 2026, with special attention to the agricultural sector.
The Junta of Castilla y León has opened the application period for self-employment aid for 2026, endowed with 10 million euros. The call is directed at self-employed workers, including those in the agricultural sector, who have started their activity between September 2, 2025 and August 7, 2026. The application deadline is August 14, 2026.
What expenses are covered by self-employment aid
The grants finance the necessary expenses to start a new self-employed activity. These include investments in machinery, tools, equipment, facilities, computer equipment, vehicles related to the activity, and web development. Technical assistance services, feasibility studies, and marketing are also covered.
Additionally, training actions related to business management and new technologies are subsidised. In the case of the agricultural sector, the aid expressly covers expenses for the development of agricultural and livestock activities, facilitating the creation of new farms and generational change in rural areas.
Requirements to apply for the grants
To access these aids, the applicant must have registered as self-employed in the RETA or in the corresponding Professional College Mutuality between the indicated dates. Furthermore, it is necessary to be unemployed and registered with the Public Employment Service as an unemployed job seeker on the day of registration, except in the case of returning emigrants.
The beneficiary must maintain the self-employed activity during the period required in the regulatory bases and not incur any prohibitions for obtaining grants. The aids are granted in order of submission of complete applications until August 14, 2026, as long as there is available credit.
Grant amounts: differences by gender and services
The aid for starting an economic activity is 8,000 euros for women and 6,000 euros for other beneficiaries. These amounts can be increased in certain cases provided for in the regulatory bases.
External services aimed at improving the development of the activity are subsidised at 75% of the cost, excluding VAT, up to a maximum of 2,000 euros. Training courses in business management and new technologies are also subsidised at 75% of the cost, with a maximum limit of 2,400 euros.
For self-employed workers in agriculture, this aid represents a key boost in a context of an ageing rural population and the need for generational change. This year's call, with 10 million euros, aims to promote self-employment and retain population in rural areas.
