Huelva registers 26,692 unemployed, 213 fewer than in June. The annual drop of 13.44% is the largest in Spain.

July has seen a decrease of 213 people in the registered unemployment in the province of Huelva, which ends the month with 26,692 unemployed, according to data published by the Junta de Andalucía. With this figure, the province of Huelva ranks as the fifth in Andalusia with the largest absolute decrease, behind Cádiz, Sevilla, Málaga, and Granada.

The most striking figure for Huelva is the annual evolution: 13.44% fewer unemployed people than in July 2025, which means 4,145 fewer unemployed in a year. This drop is the largest at the national level, exceeding the Andalusian average.

In the whole of Andalusia, unemployment fell by 9,661 people in July, down to 526,862, the lowest figure since December 2007. This reduction is the most notable among all autonomous communities. The decline was more pronounced among women, with 8,453 fewer unemployed, compared to 1,208 fewer men unemployed.

By sectors, unemployment fell in all except construction, where it increased by 2,152 people at the regional level. In Huelva, the services sector remains the most affected, with 16,757 unemployed, 62.8% of the provincial total. Unemployment also decreased in all age groups.

The Andalusian government has noted that the downward trend has been maintained since May 2021, and that the drop in July is the largest in the last twelve months in net figures. For the coming months, the evolution of employment in the province will depend on the agricultural campaign and summer tourist activity, two key drivers in the area.
