The public-private company Recursos de Galicia (RDG) has received interest from three companies in the logistics and investment sector to join its shareholding in just two days. The operation aims to exceed 100 million euros in capital.
The capital increase announced this week by Recursos de Galicia (RDG) has already attracted the interest of three companies from the Galician productive sector. The company confirmed on Wednesday that, in just 48 hours since the operation was made public, three firms —two from the logistics sector and one from investment— have contacted to learn more about the process.
The announcement coincides with the start of a series of meetings that RDG and the Ministry of Economy and Industry will hold with clusters and business organizations to explain the details of the increase. The goal is to exceed 100 million euros in capital, compared to the current just over 40 million, and to strengthen the investment capacity of a company created to maximize the territorial impact of the value generated by its own energy sources.
The CEO of RDG, Emilio Bruquetas, expressed satisfaction with the reception.
“We are pleased with how well it has been received. In recent hours, three companies have contacted us to see how they could be part of our shareholding, and we hope many more will join,” he assured after the meeting with the clusters.Currently, RDG has 32 partners, including Abanca, Finsa, Megasa, Gadisa, Copasa, Exlabesa, Ence, and Jealsa.
The Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, explained that the goal is to “continue strengthening the company from a financial perspective” to have more investment capacity and to reduce energy costs for the industry and the Galician population.
“Any Galician company, except of course those managing energy or mining assets, regardless of its size and corporate purpose, can participate in this increase,” Lorenzana reminded. The Xunta, which currently holds 30% of RDG's capital, will participate in the operation through an asset transfer: its 30.92% stake in Nedgia Galicia and between 3% and 4% that the Galician Energy Institute (Inega) holds in six wind farms.
This Thursday, another meeting is scheduled with the business confederations to convey the information to the Galician business fabric. The schedule will be completed in the coming months: between October and November, an independent report will be received that will assess the contribution in kind from the Xunta, and the final approval of the capital increase is expected during the general meeting of RDG in December.
Currently, RDG has two assets: 100% of the Mondigo wind farm, in A Mariña lucense, and 10% of the capital of the Doade mine developer (Ourense), declared strategic by the European Commission.
