The Spanish winger, MVP of the match against Belgium, assures that 'we have no fear' ahead of the World Cup semi-final against France next Tuesday in Dallas.

Lamine Yamal does not mince words. The Barcelona winger, named MVP of the quarter-final match against Belgium, has sent a direct message to the French national team ahead of the World Cup semi-final taking place next Tuesday in Dallas. "They are the ones who should be afraid of us. We have eliminated them before," stated the young Spanish talent after the match.

A straightforward message

In statements to the media, Yamal made it clear that the Spanish team feels no fear against the reigning world runners-up. "Honestly, I think we are the two best teams in the World Cup, but we have no fear," he concluded. The forward recalled the recent semi-final of Euro 2024, where Spain eliminated France with a stellar performance from him.

"We are very happy. We wanted to go all the way in the World Cup. I am pleased," he reflected after the 1-0 victory against Belgium, a win that returns Spain to a World Cup semi-final 16 years later, since Vicente del Bosque's team won the title in South Africa 2010. At that time, Yamal was only three years old.

The Player of the Match

The Rocafonda player was once again decisive against Belgium, despite the tight defensive marking. Belgian full-back De Cuyper was tasked with "dancing" with him, a job that required constant support and tactical fouls to stop him. Yamal, far from complaining, took it in his stride: "It is what it is. There is always a teammate left alone. I am here to help the team and win, which is what matters to me."

The winger initiated the play for Fabián's goal, tested goalkeeper Courtois — who had to leave injured before the end — and delivered dangerous balls to his teammates. He only lacked a goal, but his influence on the game was total. FIFA awarded him the MVP of the match, a recognition of his constant offensive threat.

The challenge of France

The semi-final revisits the duel of Euro 2024, where Spain defeated France with a legendary goal from Lamine Yamal that earned him the award for the best goal of the tournament. Now, the stage is even bigger: a World Cup. "We have been superior. The goal left us with a strange feeling because it came when we were doing better. But the reality is that no one has played us on equal terms. Everyone waits for us at the back. The important thing is the victory," he analysed about the match against Belgium.

The clash against France presents a maximum challenge for Luis de la Fuente's team. Yamal, with his boldness and confidence, stands as the main offensive argument of a Spain that seeks to return to a World Cup final. On Tuesday, at 21:00 local time, the AT&T Stadium in Dallas will be the venue for an encounter that promises strong emotions.

For the fans, Yamal's message serves as a morale boost: the most disruptive player in the team is not only in form but also has full confidence in his team's chances. The question is whether France, with its experience and physical power, will be able to contain the storm of the young Spanish winger.
