The multinational GO ENERGY GROUP is driving a macro-complex of data centres and renewable energy in Huelva that will exceed one gigawatt of capacity. The project, valued at over €10 billion, will create the largest artificial intelligence ecosystem in Europe.

The project, named TRON AI INFRASTRUCTURES, will be built in three locations within a radius of less than five kilometres in the province of Huelva. The combined computing capacity will exceed one gigawatt (GW), a figure that, according to the promoter, will place Huelva at the forefront of the continent in advanced computing and artificial intelligence.

A Commitment to Clean Energy and Digitalisation

The initiative is not limited to data centres. GO ENERGY GROUP has designed an integrated model that combines large-scale photovoltaic plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable hydrogen production. The aim is to ensure a stable and emission-free energy supply for the servers, a requirement increasingly demanded by major international tech companies.

The complex will also include a production line for low-emission ammonia, currently in the final stages of administrative processing. The company expects to begin construction of the first phases starting in 2028, coinciding with the progressive deployment of the digital ecosystem.

The Port of Huelva, Key to Export Strategy

The project reinforces the role of the Port of Huelva as a logistics platform for the export of ammonia and other sustainable fuels to international markets. This port connection consolidates the province as a top-tier energy and logistics hub in the new European map.

For the residents of the province, the impact will be significant: thousands of direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created during the construction and operation of the complex, in addition to attracting tech and service companies looking to establish themselves in the campus environment.

A Qualitative Leap for the Huelva Economy

The investment, exceeding €10 billion, represents one of the largest ever received in Andalusia. The macro-project places Huelva on the global artificial intelligence map, competing with regions such as Northern Europe or Singapore. The combination of sun, available land, and a robust electricity network has been decisive in the choice of location.

Administrative processing is progressing, and more details about timelines and the technological partners involved in the development are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Meanwhile, the province of Huelva is preparing for a new era: transitioning from being an agricultural and chemical land to becoming the digital epicentre of Southern Europe.
