The province of Huelva exported goods worth €3.584 billion between January and May 2026, a 7.9% increase compared to the previous year. Huelva solidifies its position as the second largest exporting province in Andalusia, accounting for 19% of the regional total.
The province of Huelva has once again demonstrated its strength in international markets during the first five months of 2026. Huelva's exports reached €3.584 billion between January and May, representing an increase of 7.9% compared to the same period last year, according to data provided by the Territorial Delegation of Economy, Finance, European Funds, and Industry, Energy, and Mines.
These figures position Huelva as the second largest exporting province in Andalusia, concentrating 19% of the total sales abroad from the autonomous community. Almost one in five euros that Andalusia sells outside Spain comes from the province of Huelva.
The territorial delegate, Lucía Núñez Sánchez, has positively assessed these results, which consolidate Huelva's position in Andalusian foreign trade. Núñez also recalled that 2025 was a historic year for the province, as it surpassed €7 billion in annual exports for the first time, with a total of €7.341 billion.
The agri-food sector remains the main driver of Huelva's exports. Between January and May 2026, fruits topped the list with €1.301 billion, representing 36.3% of the total. This figure remains virtually unchanged from the previous year, reflecting the stability of the sector.
One of the most notable growths during this period was seen in metal ores, slags, and ashes, which reached €875 million, an increase of 68% compared to 2025. The spectacular rise in organic chemical products also stands out, with exports skyrocketing by 2,726% to €141 million, a figure that evidences the boost of the chemical industry in the province.
The ranking of the main exported products is completed by mineral fuels and oils, copper and its manufactures, animal or vegetable fats and oils, inorganic chemical products, other chemical industries, fish and seafood, and preparations of fruits and vegetables.
Huelva's companies exported their products to 116 countries during the first five months of 2026. China has consolidated itself as the main destination market, with purchases worth €801 million, an 85% increase compared to the same period last year. It is followed by Germany, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Sweden, and the United States.
These positive figures for 2026 come after a historic 2025 for Huelva's foreign trade. Last year, Huelva recorded €7.341 billion in exports, a growth of 0.5% compared to 2024, positioning it as the third largest exporting province in Andalusia. Excluding energy products, growth was 9.2%, with a positive trade balance.
Within the agri-food sector, red fruits set a historic record in 2025 with €1.409 billion in exports, making Huelva the national leader in the sector. In total, food and beverage exports reached €1.896 billion, the best figure in the historical series.
The territorial delegate also highlighted the role of Andalucía TRADE as support for the internationalization of Huelva's companies. During 2025, 127 companies from the province participated in external promotion actions organized by this public entity, a 16.2% increase compared to the previous year. These companies represent almost one in three regular exporters from Huelva.
Additionally, the Junta de Andalucía has recently approved a new line of incentives for internationalization, endowed with €11.5 million until 2027, co-financed with FEDER funds. This line is aimed at facilitating the presence of Andalusian companies at fairs, trade missions, and promotional actions in international markets.
