Companies in the Ibex 35 and other listed firms will distribute around €7.25 billion in dividends during July, with Iberdrola as the main payer. The Ibex 35 is nearing the 20,000-point mark.
July has become the sweetest month for Spanish shareholders. The major listed companies are beginning to distribute the profits from the last fiscal year, and the total amount will reach €7.25 billion. A downpour of liquidity arrives at a particularly favourable time for the stock market, with the Ibex 35 at multi-year highs.
Iberdrola, Endesa, and Repsol dominate the dividend podium
The main star of the calendar is Iberdrola, which will distribute nearly €2.885 billion among its shareholders. The utility thus consolidates its remuneration policy, supported by international expansion and strong investments in networks and renewables.
Next is Endesa, with over €1 billion allocated to dividends. The company maintains one of the highest remuneration rates in the national market, backed by a strategic plan prioritising the development of electrical networks and clean energies.
Repsol completes the podium with a payout exceeding €609 million, also improving the premium by 10% compared to the previous year. The oil company demonstrates solvency despite the volatility of energy markets.
Other major payers include ACS, with around €517 million; Amadeus, with €455 million; and Enagás, which will distribute nearly €159 million. The list is rounded out by Redeia, Cellnex, Colonial, Sacyr, Acerinox, Indra, Fluidra, Grifols, and Laboratorios Rovi, among others.
The Ibex 35 nears 20,000 points and optimism solidifies
The stock market context is supportive. The Ibex 35 stands at 19,852.4 points, very close to the psychological barrier of 20,000, and has accumulated a revaluation of 14.7% since January. This rally contrasts with geopolitical uncertainty but reflects confidence in the Spanish economy.
For the small investor, the dividend is more than a one-off income. It represents the realisation of the return on a sustained investment and, in many cases, the capital to reinforce positions or supplement family finances. The combination of stock market highs and historic premiums invites optimism.
Outside the Ibex 35, companies such as CIE Automotive, Faes Farma, Gestamp, Línea Directa, Vidrala, Global Dominion, Grupo Insur, Tubacex, Azkoyen, Cevasa, Miquel y Costas, and Naturhouse also distribute dividends. In total, nearly thirty listed firms make July a particularly profitable month.
What does this dividend downpour mean for shareholders?
For long-term investors, these payments confirm the financial health of the Spanish business fabric. Companies maintain their ability to generate cash and sustain stable remuneration policies. The dividend becomes a recurring yield that can be reinvested or used as a supplement to income.
The payment calendar extends throughout the month, so shareholders should pay attention to the exact dates for each company. It is recommended to check the deadlines on each company's website or in the announcements to the CNMV to avoid missing any payments.
In an environment of still high-interest rates, dividends offer an attractive alternative to other fixed-income assets. And with the Ibex at highs, the total return (dividend plus revaluation) skyrockets for those who invested during the times of greatest uncertainty.
